The Surfaced-Launched Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (SLAMRAAM) is the Army’s future short-range air defense weapon. SLAMRAAM will replace the Avenger air defense system.  SLAMRAAM will enable air defenders engage targets, including cruise missiles and helicopters, beyond line-of-sight and at greater ranges than the Avenger. SLAMRAAM will also defend against the unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles. (Click photo for larger image.)
