| Anti-Satellite Mission Once Belonged to Air Defense Artillery | ||
|
The
USS Erie, a US Navy Aegis missile defense
cruiser, has been tasked to shoot down a falling US
Satellite, but the anti-satellite mission was once
assigned to Air Defense Artillery. Extracted from the March-April 1990 issue of Air
Defense Artillery magazine,
"ASAT: ADA's New Space Age Mission"
by Pete Olson describes ADA ASAT weapons systems
and fire units that might have existed if the Defense
Department had continued to fund the anti-satellite program.
